New Chapters of Life - New Home

After half a year of exhausting renovation, finally we moved in to our new home before new baby arrived.

Having to plan, design, supervise and oversee the renovation project was not the most enjoyable thing to do while heavily pregnant. Despite some hiccups and blood-boiling moments, I am glad we did it before I popped.

Papa painstakingly came from Jeniang many many times to install the wiring and lighting for us, mama sewed the curtains for us, hubby worked on the cleaning and gardening. Seeing everything be put together with our own hands and efforts is satisfying and comforting.

Thank you hubby, thank you papa mama, thank you everyone. Finally, home sweet home.

Our New Home

Our New Home

Hubby and I have bought ourselves a new home! :D

We are so excited, yet nervous about our new commitment. This is by far our biggest and longest financial commitment. We will be tied up financially for the next 30+ years. But we try to look on the bright side - we will be building a home together, with our lovely Cedric boy! A home sweet home that will shelter us from the rain, the wind, and the sun, a place where we will plant our memories growing old together, and where we celebrate all the ups and down in life with each other.

The purchase was not really pre-planned. We were there at the show room, looking at those mini model houses. The next thing we know, we were at the show house, admiring the beautifully designed interior. The magic of show houses is that it gives you a nice picture of "what if...". What if this is my room...? How nice it would be if I were to enjoy the jacuzzi here every night after work...I want my kitchen this way and that way...Then the "what if" turns into a desire to buy.

After checking out the construction side and other housing projects around the area, we discussed and finally decided that this will be our home for the next 20-30 years. We are quite pleased with our purchase. The house is part of a small gated and guarded community of about 300 houses. We have a small club house with some simple facilities like swimming pool, gym etc. The landscape is tastefully designed with a lot of greenery. I hope it would be a good environment for Cedric to grow up safely and happily.

The house will be ready in Mid 2014. So now it's time for hubby and I to buckle down and work hard for our future home! A home that we will build together, hand in hand.
